While rebuilding and carving the upper section, a
flaw in the base section gave way. Here the pieces
have been cleaned and drilled to accept stainless pins. |

I hammered the ends of the pins to create a dog bone
shape providing a more secure anchor. |
 |
The repair is virtually undetectable.
