At this point the basic profiles have been restored, all joints have been pointed, and the assemblage is as weather-tight as it can be made. The repair mortars change color as the cure progresses and should eventually blend with the original stone. We are in the process of producing emblems and garland, in terra cotta, to replace those lost to time. The balusters are so badly damaged it was decided to replace them entirely. They were left as is until the reproductions are ready for installation.
